Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 7, 2026

This is a starting draft based on what EZ·Menu actually collects and does today, written in plain language. It hasn’t been reviewed by a lawyer. Before you rely on it — especially for an App Store / Google Play submission, or for diners in the EU/UK/California — have it reviewed.

EZ·Menu (“we”, “us”) provides a digital menu platform that lets restaurants, cafés and bars publish a menu their customers can view and order from by scanning a QR code. This policy explains what information we collect, from whom, and why.

Who this applies to

Two different groups use EZ·Menu, and we collect different information from each:

Information we collect

From owners and staff: name, email address, and authentication details (via email/password or Google Sign-In); the restaurant profile you create (name, address, phone, hours, logo, cover photo, social links); menu content (categories, items, prices, photos); and staff accounts you invite, by email.

From diners: nothing, just to view a published menu. If you place a table order, we collect the items and quantities you select and, if the restaurant has table ordering enabled, the table you’re seated at. If you leave a review, we collect the rating, comment, and an author name if you choose to give one — reviews use anonymous, per-device authentication so we don’t need your email or real identity to prevent spam.

Usage data: for restaurants on the Pro/Business plan, we track aggregate view counts (how many times a menu or item was viewed) so owners can see what’s popular. This is tied to the restaurant, not to individual diners.

Payment: subscription purchases are processed by Apple, Google, or our billing partner RevenueCat. We never see or store your card details.

How we use this information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use diner data for advertising.

Published menus are public, by design

When a restaurant marks its menu “published,” that menu — including its name, photos, prices, hours, and reviews — becomes visible to anyone with the link or QR code, without needing an account. This is the intended purpose of the product. Restaurant owners control what appears there and can unpublish at any time.

Who we share information with

We use the following processors to operate the service, each under their own privacy and security terms:

We don’t share your information with anyone else except where required by law.

Data retention and deletion

We keep account and restaurant data for as long as the account is active. You can permanently delete your account and data yourself, in the app (Dashboard → Account → Delete account), or see deleting your account for full details — except where we’re required to keep records (e.g. for tax or legal reasons).

Children’s privacy

EZ·Menu is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them.

Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access-controlled databases. No system is perfectly secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
